Thirty-eight is far too young to have a midlife crisis or so single mom Jenny King assumes. After all, she hasn't quite hit middle age yet, but when she looks in the mirror it is hard to see past the growing lines around her face or the fact that her dye job could no longer be considered the product of whimsy.  So when her cheeky but well intentioned best friend begins encouraging Jen to reconnect with her first love, Jake Martin, she finds that a glass of good wine and a case of false bravado are all the push she needs.

One online conversation seems benign, but when a little banter leads to a moonlit stroll on the beaches of Point Pleasant, site of their now nearly mythical first kiss, Jen begins to realize that the stakes are much higher than she could have imagined when she hit the send button. After said moonlit stroll leads to a weekend in Cape May and an unexpected Christmas holiday, Jenny is forced to confront her past and the fears that have kept her from trusting in any man completely... and when Jake’s ex-wife suddenly appears, Jenny will have to decide whether once again risking her heart is a price she is willing to pay.
